Three things I cannot do for you

I cannot change or cancel a booking. I am an independent guide, not a tour operator and not a travel agency. Tours booked through the links here are booked with GetYourGuide and your confirmation email has their details on it. Cancellation terms are set per product and shown on each booking panel before you pay, so read the one in front of you rather than a general promise from me.

I cannot tell you which tombs will be open on your date. Nobody can. There is no official open-tomb list and no published rotation schedule; tombs close for conservation and the set changes. Usually eight to ten are open on the standard ticket. The board at the entrance is the only place today’s list exists, and that page says so at length rather than inventing a calendar.

I cannot quote you a taxi fare. Fares here are negotiated in advance and never metered, and the 2026 sources I checked disagree with each other by a factor of five for the same full day. That is not a range I can average into an answer. What the crossing page can give you is the ferry fare band and the fact that it leaves when it is full.

What I do want in my inbox

Corrections first: a price that has changed at the window, a tomb that has opened or closed, a rating on a tour that no longer matches what the page here says. Ministry prices come from the list dated November 2024 and product figures move whenever the platform updates them.

After that, what confused you. If a page left you unsure whether a figure was in Egyptian pounds or US dollars, that is my failure and not yours and I will rewrite it. Entry tickets on this site are always EGP and always labelled; tours and the Luxor Pass are always US$. If you stood at the window and the page had it wrong, that is the message I most want to receive.

What I cannot help with is booking a tour on your behalf, arranging a private guide, or any request that begins with an operator asking to be featured. Nobody pays to appear here, and the affiliate disclosure explains exactly what that means.

Where I am

This site is written from Luxor, Egypt, on the East Bank, across the river from the valley itself. If you want to see where everything is: Luxor on Google Maps. The valley is on the West Bank; you cross by public ferry or by the road bridge south of the city, which is a substantial detour by car. That is the crossing page.
